Blind souls

I was out of breath

and full of hope

as I first set foot on sand

thought I left the pain

far behind

as I reached the promised land

I lost so many comrades

I even lost the count

Swallowed by the waters

When I am safe and sound

I'd been told the tales

'bout bellied men

that would leave their plates half full

that the people here

had drinking water

to flush away their stool

but me, I'm in a cellblock

with many other men

piledup like livestock

waiting for their brand

So many blind souls

wandering around, wandering around

So many blind souls

wandering around me

I've been questionned time

and time again

and I still have seen no food

I was told to hop

on a train

And then I was gone for good

a station to a station

a hovel to the next

misty like a spectrum

that roams around the nest

So many blind souls

wandering around, wandering around

So many blind souls

wandering around me
